...Jonathan Allard won again in Golden State Challenge action at Thunderbowl Raceway in
Tulare Saturday (June 24th). ...Cody Veenstra made the trip to Richmond Virginia for the
USAC National sprint car race. The Idaho pilot snared a top 15 finish in his first run at
the intimidating track. The RRS points earning event was won by All-HammerDown! Team racer
Brian Tyler. ...Terry McCarl is back. McCarl won a feature at Husets Speedway before
racing the World of Outlaws event at Knoxville Friday night. ...The Saturday race was
rained out. ...Kyle Larson finished fifth in the mdiget show
at Manzanita Speedway last Saturday. He started 18th. ...Racers planning
on competing in the upcoming $30,000-to-win Non-Wing Ultimate Challenge event at Southern
Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA, are reminded that the pre-entry deadline of June 30 is
rapidly approaching. Pre-entry for the event, which will take place on Tuesday night,
August 8, is $50 if submitted by June 30. Entries received after July 1 will be $100.
Entry forms are available by contacting McTwo Promotions at 515-957-0020. Entries should
be returned to McTwo Promotions, P.O. Box 185, Altoona, IA 50009. Last year, Levi Jones of
Olney, IL, kicked off his O'Reilly Sprint Bandits TNT championship drive with a victory in
the fifth edition of Southern Iowa Speedway's $30,000-to-win Non-Wing Ultimate Challenge.
Other past winners include Dickie Gaines (2004), Boston Reid (2003), Travis Rilat (2002)
and J.J. Yeley (2001).
